Hello from The Big Apple! New York!

Hello everyone....I know you will all love New York!
Not exactly my cup of tea....but it has been an eye opener...
the performing arts scence here is amazing...there is so much going on everywhere.

I have done the usual tourist route...been uptown downtown and even to Harlem.
Tell you what despite all that is said of Harlem, the most helpful people I met were in Harlem.. . . where I had got lost.
The rest of Manhattan is a big rush....everyone busy...talking on the phone while they were walking and multitude of languages you hear everywhere you walk.

Shows attended thus far...the Limon dance company, Alvin Ailey Dance company's 50th year celebration, Julliard school performance, Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker, Chicago the musical and just before I left New York an amazing dance performance (world premiere) Dances concertante...lovely loevely choreography, strong dancers and absolutely beautifully musical pieces by 10 dancers...lots of pas de deaux...Not a moment of boredom. Looked closely at my programme...all the amazing dancers were soloists of ABT...American Ballet Theatre and the choreographer himself also has choreographed works for many of these fabulous company plus ABT. I was a little disappointed that ABT had no programme on....so this was a most pleasant surprise and a marvelous treat. . . Loved it so much.

I really liked Washington DC and today saw Niagara Falls....it is really a natural wonder...Tell you more soon.
